I'm a firm believer that health is wealth, and that the things you really want to achieve are worth working hard for. After moving to California from the UK, I worked to achieve my advanced personal training certification in California. I spent some time working in corporate fitness, but after a few years I knew my passion and talent lay elsewhere, and started my own business. With thousands of hours of training and coaching under my belt, I am fully equipped to help you reach your goals. I'm a professional athlete and compete across the nation. I have a passion for teaching Obstacle Course Race (OCR) skills but also love helping anyone who seeks to reach their optimum fitness. As a professional athlete I understand the struggle involved in training hard to achieve your objectives and eating the right balance of foods. Whatever your goal, I'm with you every step of the way. Life is the main event, let's train for it!

NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-CPT, USAW LEVEL2, VA STATE DIRECTOR OF THE NHSSCA, TRX-GST LEVEL1, MARPO TRAINED, CSC, SPRINT 8 CERTIFIED COACH, NFHA HS LACROSSE COACH
I graduated from Harvard University Extension School with a B.L.A. in Humanities. At Exsurgo I am the Director of Sports Performance, providing high level oversight to each trainer's program design to ensure the goals of clients are met. I bring my project management approach to programs using the “scope/time/cost” method, to create structured programs for any client with any background. In 2015, when I was living in California, I was the Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach and Head Freshmen Soccer Coach at Saint Francis High School. I also coached Encore Lacrosse, an elite lacrosse organization throughout the Bay Area, headed up by Johnny Christmas from UVA/Boston Cannons. Here in Virginia I am the State Director of the National High School Strength and Conditioning Association. I program and coach Youth Development Training sessions to help young athletes up their game. I think it's fair to say this is where my passion lies. I also own a fitness technology company (Exsurgo Technologies) and the devices I created have become an integral part of the Athletic Performance Index we put our athletes through. My technology allows us to have real data to work with. This enables me to customize the training to best suit my clients, plus, who doesn't like to see their hard work pay off and their numbers improve? After all, if you're not assessing, you're just guessing!

A.J. has been a sports reporter for two decades, working at USA Today, Fox Sports, AOL Sports and CBS Sports. He’s currently a senior writer at Front Office Sports. His entry into fitness started with a not-so-stellar physical in his early 20s. A.J. stepped on the scale and couldn't believe the digital readout: 232 pounds. That disbelief turned into action as he lost 50 pounds, added muscle and, eventually, that dovetailed into a secondary career as a trainer. Over the last decade, A.J. guided dozens of his clients — from college athletes to those seeking to end their sedentary ways — toward their fitness goals. Along with playing hockey (even against Washington Capitals All-Star Alex Ovechkin), A.J. is an experienced obstacle course racer. He’s competed in more than 40 events, including three 24-hour World's Toughest Mudder and an OCR World Championship.
